Anxiety/Panic

Fear and feeling anxious are natural responses.

Anxiety is a feeling of unease, such as worry or fear that can be mild or severe. It is a natural emotion in response to a stressful situation.

Everyone has feelings of anxiety in their life – for example, you may feel worried and anxious about sitting for an exam or having a medical test or job interview.

During times like these, feeling anxious can be perfectly normal.

However, some people find it hard to control their worries. Their feelings of anxiety are more constant and can often affect their daily lives.

Uncontrolled anxiety is not a natural response.

Uncontrolled anxiety can lead to constant worrying, difficulty sleeping or concentrating, and restlessness.

You may seem to overreact constantly to the smallest level of stress, leading to feeling physically ill.

Negative thoughts may prohibit you from performing at both work and home.

Constant nervousness might be a way of life for you – which causes you to avoid social interaction.

Some anxiety leads to panic.

Panic attacks are paralyzing and can be triggered by different stressors.

As a result, your panic causes you to have trouble breathing, your blood pressure increases, and you become disoriented.

These attacks make you wonder if you are about to die.

When your anxiety seems out of control and panic becomes a constant in your life, it is time to seek professional help.
