Traumatic events have a way of lingering, resulting in you reliving the experience when exposed to the right trigger.

Those subconscious memories from the past cause emotional upheaval as they relive the event, creating emotional stress.

For instance, PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) occurs because of an individual reliving past trauma, which is not necessarily associated only with military combat trauma. This disorder can cause serious mental and physical problems that require treatment.

What is EMDR Therapy? Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders.

It helps replace negative thoughts from arising by replacing those thoughts with positive ones.

As a result, the individual becomes desensitized to negative feelings and learns to respond differently when triggers arise.
